User Experience & Interaction Design

A design leader: I define and deliver user experiences for content-rich digital products on mobile, web and interactive television. I have experience establishing design processes and building a team from scratch. I love crafting data-driven products that delight customers, and provide measurable results.

My work at WaPoLabs—digital products incubator for The Washington Post Company—has focused on building and directing a team of interaction designers. I own the UX and UI design process for a portfolio of media personalization and social news products powered by the Trove platform.

I partner with the Chief Digital Officer, Chief Strategist and Directors of Engineering to steer consumer products and B2B technology platforms for WPO’s family of media businesses including The Washington Post, Slate, The Root, Post-Newsweek Stations, among others business units.

I thrive on collaboration and am expert in product and experience prototyping, human-centered research, design direction, and working within engineering teams. Equally adept presenting to key stakeholders, advocating for users, producing wireframes or pixel-perfect visual designs.

Prior to joining The Washington Post Company, I worked as an interaction and product designer in San Francisco at R/GA, Plausible Labs, Intel's People and Practice Research Group and Powis Inc. I earned a BFA in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University, an MFA in Design and MA in Visual & Critical Studies at California College of the Arts.
